The sixth Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda is for Jesper Karlsen (Junior) and Valerio Pucci (Cadets)
Riva del Garda – The sixth edition of the Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda, an event organized by Fraglia Vela Riva, concluded with a total of eight valid races (five qualifying races and three final races), marking an exemplary start to its racing season.
Credit for this organizational success goes to the Race Committee, coordinated by Andrea Gatta, and the Fraglia Vela Riva water team, led by Fausto Maroni. The Jury, composed of five umpires, was presided over by international referee Luigi Bertini.
Celebrating victory among the Juniors, of whom there were more than two hundred and fifty, was Jesper Karlsen (CVA): the former winner of the 2025 Garda Optimist Meeting, finished tied for points with Andrea Demurtas, representing Fraglia Vela Riva, and overtook him by virtue of his better placing in the final race. Completing the podium was Matteo Adduci (LNI Mandello del Lario), a solid third-place finisher in the group throughout the event, which, as a reminder, served as the official selection for the World and European Championships for the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Hungary. Fourth overall and first among the women was Ireland’s Maeve Donagh (PSI), with Ahnieshka Madonich (YCI) and Ginevra Ravaglia (CNB) completing the women’s podium.
Among the Cadets, Valerio Pucci took the lead in thrilling races, holding off Swiss Carlo Milan and Poland’s Pavel Frydrychowicz, who had been chasing him since the end of the first day. In the women’s field, Fraglia Vela Riva celebrated with Giulia Zanoni, who, among other things, finished fourth overall, ahead of Emma Travison (CNL) and Lea Salikova (Segelclub Stafa).
With the Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda, organized with the crucial support of the Faccenda Shipyard, now concluded, Fraglia Vela Riva’s attention is now turning to the 44th edition of the Garda Optimist Meeting, which will open with the second Rothoblaas Sprint Cup, scheduled for March 28th and 29th, continue with the twelfth Country Cup, and conclude with the Meeting itself, scheduled to conclude on Easter Sunday.
