Nearly One Hundred Crews Ready for the Blue Garden Riva Cup

Riva del Garda – Nearly one hundred crews are ready to cross the buoys of the Blue Garden Riva Cup, an event organized by Fraglia Vela Riva that will feature specialists from five classes between tomorrow and Saturday: the RS300 and RS600 single-handed boats, the Korsar and 505 double-handed boats, and the Dyas, a three-man keelboat.

Now in its tenth edition, the event has seen an almost unexpected success in terms of entries, with the Korsar and 505 boats dominating, considering the sixty-six crews in total, mostly from Germany.

The unique format of the regatta will engage the Fraglia Vela Riva team, coordinated as usual by Fausto Maroni, on a single race course, known in sailing jargon as the “inside/outside,” designed to ensure the smooth running of the event. Eight races are scheduled for all classes, with a maximum of three races per day.

“According to the forecast, we expect variable weather, with favorable indications for Saturday. As usual, together with the Race Officials, we will monitor the situation as it evolves, in order to complete the program established by the Notice of Race. This work could not be carried out adequately without the support of the team, which represents one of the added values of Fraglia Vela Riva,” commented Fausto Maroni, for many years the Boatswain of the Riva club and now one of its most respected technical consultants.

The Race Committee will be managed by Paolo Alquati, Principal Race Officer of the event. He will be joined by Nicola Piccinini, Gianfranco Busana, Federica Fanizza, Paolo Ceschini, and Mara Gabusi.

The Blue Garden Riva Cup will conclude on Saturday afternoon, with the awards ceremony scheduled for the club’s terrace, presided over by Chiara Carloni.
