Jesper Karlsen and Andrea Demurtas are neck and neck in the Juniors of the sixth Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda
Riva del Garda – The sixth edition of the Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda is proceeding smoothly: today, taking advantage of a slightly slower Ora than yesterday, PRO Andrea Gatta and his team managed to secure two more races, closing the qualifying phase with a total of five valid races.
Among the Juniors, Jesper Karlsen (CNA) and Andrea Demurtas (FVR) are neck and neck: the two Italians each boast four wins of the day and thus share first place in the provisional standings with the same number of points. Matteo Adducci (LNI Mandello del Lario) is in third place, successfully keeping pace with the fast leading pair. In the women’s field, Irene Faini (CNB) continues to be the best performer, finishing sixth overall behind Matteo Faraoni (LNI Ostia), fourth, and Elliot Novara (CNV).
Valerio Pucci holds onto the lead in the Cadet category, now followed by Switzerland’s Carlo Milan, who has overtaken Poland’s Pavel Frydrychowicz, who was second until yesterday. There’s a changing of the guard in the women’s category, with Giulia Zanoni (FVR) moving up to fourth place and four points ahead of Switzerland’s Lea Salikova, the early leader.
The event, particularly popular between the buoys, enjoyed a convivial moment during the afternoon, when the Fraglia Vela Riva Clubhouse hosted a lottery to award over fifty prizes donated by the Faccenda Shipyard. The most coveted prize, a ready-to-sail boat, was won by Anna Moneta (ITA-9133) of the Circolo Nautico Livorno.
The sixth edition of the Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda will conclude tomorrow afternoon with the decisive races for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Fleets. The event will conclude with the awards ceremony, scheduled to take place in the Fraglia Vela Riva Multipurpose Hall.
