Hamm-Hamm (M), Puchowska-Dampc (F) and Bartolozzi-Rizzi (Mix) are on the top at 29er European Championship
Riva del Garda – The 29er European Championship, an event organized by Fraglia Vela Riva on behalf of the International 29er Class Association, ended with a total of thirteen valid races. The event brought together two hundred and fifty-one crews from twenty-nine nations in Riva del Garda, engaging them in six days of regattas characterized by variable weather.
In the end, the Germans Lucas and Moritz Hamm won, able to increase their advantage over the French Nolann Huet Des Aunay and Titouan Gresset during the final day, who managed to recover a considerable disadvantage compared to the Swiss Ikke Huber and Liam Berger, who entered the final day as the second strongest in the rankings and finally slipped to third place. Completing the top five overall are the French Le Goff-Vidor and the Italians Montesno-Coslovich, winners of the second final race.
Among the women, the Polish Antonina Puchowska and Alicjia Dampc prevailed, finishing twenty-third overall, ahead of the Hungarian sisters Boroka and Szonja Feher and the Americans Annie Sitzman and Molly Bonham.
Among the mixed crews, however, the success was Italian thanks to Giulia Bartolozzi and Pietro Rizzi, who were good at containing the return of the Puerto Ricans Izabella Calzadilla and Diego Power, whose success in the last final race was not enough to conquer the top step of the podium. Third place went to the Swedes Selma Hard and Lukas Wolfgang.
During the very attended awards ceremony, held on the multipurpose terrace of the Fraglia Vela Riva, awards were given to the French teams Bourrust-Neau (Under 17 M) and Lescanne-Kimbel (Under 17 F) and to the Polish crew Micewicz-Reszka (Under 17 Mixed). The special award for sustainability (Sustenaibility Award) went to the delegation of Canada and Hong Kong while the Nations Cup was awarded to France.
The competitive season of the Via Giancarlo Maroni association will resume during the coming weekend with the stages of the RS21 Cup Yamamay.
