A sprint start for the 29er Europeans

Riva del Garda – Despite the forecasts, which were unanimous in anticipating a first day with little wind, the 29er European Championship started in style and the over two hundred and fifty crews, who arrived in Riva del Garda from twenty-nine countries, returned to Fraglia Vela Riva after completing three trials valid for the qualifying series.

Thanks to the synergy between the Race Officers, coordinated by PRO Giuliano Tosi, also indicated as president of Camp 1, by the Class Representative Peter Lubeck and by the presidents of Camps 2 and 3 Valentina Bravi and Fabrizio Donato, and the support team of Fraglia Vela Riva, as usual led by Fausto Maroni, the management of the three regatta fields flowed as best as possible and the fleets raced practically in sync without wasting time, returning to land at around 4.45 pm.

The day smiled on Huber-Berger, who were able to win all three races of the Green fleet and, with two points, take the lead in the provisional standings, albeit tied with four other pairs who were able to score two firsts but not to the point of producing a clean run on par with that of the Swiss. Sharing the top spot with the Swiss pair are the German brothers Lucas and Moritz Hamm, Tizian and Julian Lembeck, the French Le Goff-Vigor and the Norwegians Holt-Forslund.

The best Italian crew was that of Montesano-Coslovich, currently sixth, while to find the first female team you have to scroll down to seventeenth place overall, occupied by the Polish Puchowska-Dampc.

Tomorrow we return to the water starting at 12 o’clock with the aim of completing three more races to begin giving substance to this record event that the 29er International Class organizes jointly with Fraglia Vela Riva.
