BY ROAD
The quickest way to reach Riva del Garda by car or coach is to take the motorway, Autostrada A22 Modena/Brennero. Exit at Rovereto Sud-Lago di Garda Nord (17Km from Riva).
If coming from the north you can also take the Trento Centro exit and follow the SS 45b for Riva del Garda for about 40Km.
From Brescia to Riva (80Km) take the Gardesana Occidentale (SS 45 Bis); the road between Gargnano and Riva has several tunnels and is quite narrow. The Gardesana Orientale (SS-249) is wider and runs more smoothly although it can back up with heavy traffic during the tourist season.
There are direct buses from Trento and Rovereto (Trentino Trasporti), from Verona and Desenzano (A.P.T.V.), from Brescia and Milan (S.I.A.) and during summer (from mid June-end of September) from Venice (A.P.T.V.) with one daily bus service on (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: Riva 7.00 Hrs. - Venice 10.30/Venice 17.15 - Riva 20.20).
BY RAIL
Rovereto is the closest railway station (Ferrovie dello Stato, Brennero line) 20 Km from Riva del Garda. Trentino Trasporti provides a bus service connecting Rovereto with Torbole, Riva del Garda and Arco. If travelling by rail from Milan or Venice you can disembark at the stations of Desenzano, Peschiera and Verona. There is a bus service A.P.T.V. from each town to Riva del Garda.
BY AIR
The nearest airports are Valerio Catullo in Villafranca - Verona, Gabriele D'Annunzio in Montichiari - Brescia, Caravaggio in Orio al Serio - Bergamo, Marco Polo in Tessera - Venezia, Linate e Malpensa in Milano. There are coach and bus services connecting the airports with railway and bus stations where there are connecting buses and trains for Riva del Garda and Rovereto consecutively.
