RIVA DEL GARDA - Con un Garda calmo e un'Ora piuttosto regolare, che ha soffiato per tutto il pomeriggio con un'intensità compresa tra i 4 e i 5 metri al secondo, è partita ieri l'edizione 2007 della Riva Cup. Al via della competizione, organizzata dalla Fraglia Vela Riva, si sono presentate 105 imbarcazioni: 48 nella classe 505, 23 tra i Korsar, 19 nella categoria Dyas e 15 tra i 14 piedi internazionali. Tre le prove andate regolarmente in scena per ciascuna categoria, sotto l'attenta guida del comitato di regata presieduto da Giorgio Bazzini. Al termine della prima giornata tra i 505 comandano i francesi Boite-Toupe, che pur senza aver ottenuto alcun successo parziale (secondi-quarti e quinti) sono riusciti a far valere la loro regolarità. L'equipaggio di FRA 8771 dovrà però tenere d'occhio GER 8875 di Findel e Tellen, che dopo il 18esimo posto d'apertura ha conquistato due netti successi che lasciano immaginare una probabile rimonta nelle prossime due giornate di gara. Meno aperta pare invece la regata nelle altre classi: sia tra i Dyas che nel 14 piedi infatti tutte le tre prove odierne sono state dominate dallo stesso equipaggio. A dettare legge tra i Dyas sono stati i tedeschi Holger e Franz, mentre nel 14 piedi comanda con tre punti GBR 1500 di Pattison e Massey. Nettamente delineata anche la situazione nella classe Korsar, dove GER 3772 di Braun e Kruck guida con 7 punti, frutto di un quinto posto in apertura e di due vittorie. Oggi, vento permettendo, sono in programma altre tre prove.

RIVA DEL GARDA - Garda lake was very calm, and Ora wind blowed regularly (4-5 m/s) in Riva Cup opening day. Yesterday afternoon 105 boats were at the starting line of the event, organized by Fraglia Vela Riva: 48 the crews racing in 505 class, 23 in Korsar, 19 in Dyas and 15 in the International 14". Three races were run. At the end of day one French Boite-Toupe are leading the 505 ranking: even if they didn't win a single race, their second, fourth and fifth place were enough to take the overall lead. Today they will have to look very cautiously at GER 8875 (Findel-Tellen), who had a bad opening race yesterday closing in 18th position, but then won twice and now are six in overall, with great chances of recovery. The situation is more defined in the other classes: Dyas ranking is leaded by German Holger-Franz (three times winner yesterday), while GBR 1500 (Pattison-Massey) are at the top in International 14" (they won three races too). GER 3772 (Braun-Kruck) is in first place in Korsar, thanking two victories and a fifth place. This afternoon, in a wonderful sunny day, regatta will continue with three races.
