Fraglia Vela Riva organizes courses for adults and children.
ADULTS' SAILING SCHOOL
A minimum age of 14 years is required to enrol in the adults' school. Groups can be divided or enlarged according to demand. Courses are held on weekends, during the week and the also by the day. Practical lessons are on Laser Stratos or J 80.
CHILDREN'S SAILING SCHOOL
Fraglia Vela Riva organizes courses for children from the age of 7 to 13, interested in the art of sailing. Courses take place over two consecutive weeks using the Optimist. At the end of the beginner's one and with the approval of the instructors, students can attend a course to polish up their skills and to prepare for their first regatta.
"Family friendly" Fraglia Vela Riva is offering two package deals for families who enjoy the pleasures of sailing:
a) for parents who want to do a course together with their children
b) for parents who are doing an adult course and have one or more children enrolled in the children' sailing school.
These courses are structured for businesses who want to provide staff development through team building. A maximum of 15 people is recommended with weekend or full day courses available.
Week end (€1700.00) or Full Day (€900.00).
Fraglia Vela Riva is recognized by the Italian Sailing Federation as a NAUTICAL INSTRUCTION CENTRE. Courses are organized for nautical licenses for 12 mile limits and no limits from the coast.

The following items are recommended when out on the water:
sun-screen, soft shoes with white rubber soles, a wind-breaker,
a cap with visor and a complete change of clothing.

Originally from Cecina, Meringolo spent seven years as coach of the II Zona FIV Optimist Class; since 2005 he has been with Fraglia Vela Riva where he is in charge of the racing teams. Together with the young athletes of the Optimist Class, he has won every title many times over including major national events and two European Championships and in 13 years he has selected 23 youngsters for the national team. He is a member of the Federal Technical Commitee and was the Italian Representative at the Juvenile Olympics in Singapore.
Santiago is a newcomer to the technical staff. He has been with Fraglia Vela Riva for 3 years instructing the beginners' courses. In 2010 he was instrumental in building the existing racing team.
Mauro was born and raised, from a sailing point of view, in Riva del Garda, under the guidance of Norberto Foletti. He was a trainer at the Circolo Nautico Amici of Vela di Cervia where he won events and national titles with the Optimist Class. In 2010 he was chosen by the Italian Optimist Class as assistant coach for the National team at the European Championships taking the women's team to victory. From this year he has been working with Fraglia sailing team.
