La tappa rivana della 29er Eurocup è l’ottava e ultima del Circuito Europeo, che si disputa tra Spagna, Francia, Olanda, Germania, Gran Bretagna, Slovenia e Svizzera. Il 29er è uno skiff rivolto soprattutto ai giovani, propedeutico alla classe olimpica 49er. La 29er Eurocup di Riva del Garda (unica tappa italiana) sta diventando di anno in anno un evento sempre più internazionale con una crescita costante di partecipanti.
The Riva leg of the 29er Eurocup is the eighth and last of the European Tour which has also been hosted by Spain, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Slovenia and Switzerland. The 29er dinghy is geared towards young sailors in preparation for the 49er Olympic class. The 29er Eurocup at Riva del Garda is the only Italian leg on the tour and is becoming increasingly more international with a steadily growing number of participants.

The 29er Eurocup came to a close today at Riva del Garda after the maximum14 out of 14 scheduled races were completed. Paul Farien- Mirco Kloesel of Germany took first place, while Janezic- Podlogar of Slovenia,second, won the Tour after seven legs. Among the women the Brits came out top after a wonderful performance by El-Khazindar-Loveridge. Strong northerly winds of over 20 knots this morning and the German crew of Farien-Kloesen take over the lead from Slovenians Janezic- Podlogar, who struggled a bit more with the strong wind conditions.

The 29er Eurocup kicks off on Thursday at Riva del Garda. The event, organised by Fraglia Vela Riva, has over eighty boats taking part representing twelve different countries and will finish on Sunday after a maximum 14 races, (up to 4 a day).
